Heavily illustrated French publication of the account of the famous North Polar Expedition 1893-1896 of Fridtjof Nansen. Nansen laid the basis for modern Polar science, and later he also played a large role in international politics, in the League of Nations, also receiving the Nobel Prize for Peace.
